We’re going to take a look at a newer group in the Geyer Studio this week. Stray the Course is a pop-punk group from Denver.
It’s no lie pop-punk holds a spot that is near and dear to my heart. When I first looked at the album information for Stray the Course two items stood out – this group sounds like Green Dayand they’re a younger group.
Why does the second item stand out though? Well, WMCO is a new music format station. Obviously, we love to pay homage to previous artists but our goal is to help give airplay to new artists.
Their song “Jetlag” is currently a top-20 album in our studio and I’ve certainly advocated for it. With the energy of Blink-182, the lyrics similar to My Chemical Romance and vibe of Green Day it’s easy to see why our DJs like to listen to Stray the Course.
Their music gives listeners a chance to escape reality and be blissed into a pop-punk paradise.
If you’re looking for a new group to listen to our DJs highly recommend this group!
