The new wind turbine, located directly next to the Garland Hotel, is technically not located in Muskingum County.
The turbine, built by owner of the hotel, Gary Ruble, sits directly on the Guernsey-Muskingum County Line and is zoned as part of Guernsey County according to New Concord Village Administrator Charlotte Colley.
Colley says that the turbine stands at 180 feet tall measuring from the top of one propeller to the ground.
Colley added the new turbine isn’t expected to make loud noises because it isn’t an industrial-style turbine.
The Garland Hotel (and the turbine) are located at 150 Garland Way, directly across from the Marathon gas station located on State Route 83.
