New Concord Village Council Member Levi Shegog shared a report at the November Village Council meeting about making improvements for the local reservoir. Ideas included new signs and bridges.
A few community members contacted Shegog about wanting to help enhance the condition of the reservoir.
“We want to create signs that, when you’re out there, are very informational to visitors but at the same time blend in with the environment,” said Shegog during the council meeting.
The goal is to have QR codes connected to the signs that link visitors and residents to the Village of New Concord Website with information about the area.
Something important to Shegog is making sure these improvements are high quality as well as blend in with the surrounding natural elements of the environment.
Shegog has had a few community members donate stone to him for this project, and is looking for more donations.
“I think what is exciting for me is seeing that all this right now is being donated,” said Shegog.
New Concord Mayor Jennifer Lyle is also excited for this project.
“We are grateful to generous community members for their commitment to our village reservoir improvements that will make it a more attractive destination for residents,” said Lyle.
Community members wanting to help can contact Levi Shegog at lshegog@newconcord-oh.gov for more information.
Shegog said the goal is to have as much of this project completed before snowfall and have it become a continuous project.
