New Concord Village Council has welcomed a new council member. Scott Sabino was appointed to Village Council to complete the remainder of Mayor Jennifer Lyle’s term ending Dec. 31, 2021. Lyle took office Jan. 1 .
There were seven applicants for the vacant seat. Lyle said she appreciates the residents who are interested in the village government.
Sabino was sworn in by New Concord solicitor Scott Eickelberger during the Jan. 27 special council meeting.
Sabino is the Director at Mid-East Career and Technology Centers. He has lived in New Concord for two years with his wife and two children.
Sabino said New Concord is an ideal place to live and raise a family and he wants to help New Concord continue that environment.
Sabino’s term began immediately. He joins council members Steve Wootton, Kristi (KJ) Kearns, Bob Baier, reelected council member Robert Dickson, and newly elected council member Levi Shegog, whose term began Jan. 1.
