Robert Dickson of the New Concord Village Infrastructure Committee shared details of the village’s annual tree removal project during the August Village Council meeting.
Trees to be removed are unhealthy and are on public property where they present a danger to the roads and sidewalks. “We have a new list of trees to submit for removal due to death of the tree, there will be no healthy trees gotten rid of,” said Dickson.
The village will begin the removals once the list of possible trees and streets are reviewed and dead trees are prioritized, as well as when the budget for the project is approved.
Along with the removal of trees, the village will look over a list of trees to be groomed. The trimming is done by street, with the most overgrown streets being trimmed first. Trimming is done in rotation. Streets not reviewed this year will be reviewed in 2019.
The next council meeting is Monday, Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Village Hall.
New Concord Village Council meetings air every day at 7 a.m., noon and 7 p.m. on Orbit Television (New Concord Cable 1020) and can be heard on WMCO 90.7 every Sunday and Wednesday at noon.
