Something Old, Something New is a weekly WMCO music show hosted by the WMCO Music Department. I host the show with Music Librarian David McDonald.

As music director, it is crucial to find music our DJs and audience both enjoy.

Each week on the show we’ll take an older song that debuted on WMCO 90.7 and compare it to a new song in the studio. We also compare musical styles of older and newer artists. You may hear Bohemian Rhapsody because we are comparing it to a new musical artist that sounds like Queen!

Last week’s music selections ranged from emotional moments in our life to good party music. David and I invite you to tune in to Something Old, Something New every Tuesday and Friday at 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on WMCO.

This week’s featured artist is Spence Hood. Hood’s EP “Pantryman” debuted on WMCO this summer. DJs have spun this album many times and it’s easy to tell why. His sound may remind you of John Mayer or Jason Mraz.

DJs are also enjoying the feel-good catchy tune “She,” the second song off the album.

Poppy lyrics with a flair of sass make a great hit song. Take note of this artist! Tune in to 90.7 or listen online.

Something Old, Something New airs Tuesdays and Fridays at 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on WMCO 90.7.
