The New Concord location for Sheetz is set to open Thursday, Sept. 28 according to the Public Relations Manager for Sheetz, Nick Ruffner.
This new location, which opens to the public at 8 a.m., will welcome customers by offering free self-serve coffee and soda for the entire grand opening day.
Grand opening festivities will start outside the store at 9 a.m. with multiple prizes available, including a grand prize giveaway of free Sheetz for a year. The store’s official ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for 10:45 a.m.
At the grand opening, Sheetz will donate $2,500 to the Special Olympics of Ohio as well as $2,500 to a local food bank.
The store will include seven lanes that offer high flow diesel fuel and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) for semi-trucks, along with 14 fuel terminals for other vehicles.
The store will also feature 29 free parking spaces, available for overnight parking to truckers. The location, which will be Sheetz’s 38th store to offer truck diesel fuel lanes, can be accessed by truck drivers from Interstate 70 Exit 169.
According to Ruffner, Sheetz typically employs approximately 30-35 employees at each store, the majority of which will be full-time.
Sheetz is the third best large retailer to work for, according to Fortune. This was based on a 133,000-person survey of U.S. workers by Fortune and the analytics firm called Great Place to Work.
Sheetz recently celebrated the opening of its 700th store location. The company operates 700+ store locations across Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland, with all locations open 24/7, 365 days a year.
The new Sheetz location can be found at the intersection of Interstate 70 and Route 83 at 701 Friendship Drive.
