Six entertainment series performances set for summer

The Celebrate New Concord summer entertainment series returns for six performances in 2023. The annual lineup of performances are held on select Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Village Park.

The Ladies of Longford performed on June 13 and five events remain through August.

The Athens County Dixie Stompers perform Tuesday, June 27 at 7 p.m. at Village Park in New Concord. WMCO will air all this season's performances the following Friday-Sunday at 2 p.m.

Refreshments will be for sale by the National Trail Ruritan Club.

The New Concord Farmers Market is open from 4-7 p.m. at the corner of Maple and Layton Streets.

Graduation ceremonies air live on radio and TV

Muskingum University’s 2023 undergraduate May graduation ceremonies aired live on Orbit TV and WMCO Radio Saturday, May 6 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The Baccalaureate service, “Cultivating Wisdom,” was at 11 a.m. in Brown Chapel. Rev. Matt Skolnik from Muskingum Valley Presbytery was a guest speaker during the ceremony.

The Commencement ceremony returned to one combined event in 2023. The ceremony was at 2 p.m. in the Anne C. Steele Center. Dr. Debu Purohit ’83 served as the commencement speaker. Purohit works at the Faqua School of Business at Duke University.
