Muskingum Football senior defensive lineman Tim Ousley was recognized for his play this season by being named American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III First Team All-America. Ousley also received First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) honors and the Paul Hoernemann Award as the top defensive lineman in the OAC.
Ousley finished his career first all-time at Muskingum with 28 sacks and eighth all-time in tackles with 263. This season, Ousley led the Fighting Muskies with a career-high 80 tackles and tied for second in the OAC in sacks with 10.
Ousley is Muskingum’s first All-American since linebacker Chaney Fulton in 2014 and the first defensive line All-American since Kevin Woods in 1986.
The AFCA has chosen an All-America team since 1945. The AFCA’s Division III All-America Selection Committee comprises of head coaches representing each conference from the AFCA’s eight districts. One serves as a district chairman, and another head coach is the chairman of the selection committee. Every coach in each district rank the top players in their districts before the district chairman and the committee chairman determine the team selected.
