The Muskingum University Athletic Department announced that women’s soccer head coach Mary Beth Caudill is retiring from coaching at the end of the fall semester.

Caudill has been the head coach of the Lady Muskies since 1996. During her tenure, she led the team Muskies to the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament Final Four. Muskingum received the United Soccer Coaches Team Ethics/Sportsmanship Award almost every year under Caudill’s regime and received recognition for the team’s academic excellence by being honored with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award more than 20 times.

Additionally, many student-athletes received conference, regional, and national accolades under Caudill. Caudill also served on the Executive Board of the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association over the last decade, including serving as President.

“For the past 24 years, I’ve been blessed to work with so many outstanding student-athletes, coaches, parents, alumni, and administrators…I’m truly grateful for the opportunity that Muskingum gave me that allowed me to follow my passion for coaching and positively impact the lives of student-athletes,” said Caudill.

“During her time at Muskingum, Mary Beth skillfully extended our vision of academic and athletic excellence going hand-in-hand…We thank Mary Beth for her dedication to the University, and we wish her the best moving forward,” said Muskingum Vice President and Athletic Director Steve Brockelbank.

The Muskingum Athletic Department will soon begin a national search for the next Muskingum women’s head soccer coach.
