Muskingum University head football coach Erik Ieuter announced the hiring of Michael Donnelly as the new defensive backs coach, recruiting coordinator, and the co-special teams coordinator. Ieuter also made numerous coaching promotions within the staff.
Donnelly joins the Muskingum football program after serving as the defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator at Colorado Mesa University the past two seasons.
Donnelly graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado Mesa, where he played as a defensive back for the Mavericks. Additionally, he received his master’s degree in business administration from Eastern New Mexico University.
Donnelly coached five All-Conference players and two All-Americans while at Colorado Mesa. He also has extensive experience recruiting athletes in the western part of the United States, including the states of Arizona, Colorado, California, and Utah.
Ieuter made several promotions within the staff in addition to bringing Donnelly aboard. Assistant coach Michael Pannone, the defensive line coach and academic coordinator, now becomes co-special teams coordinator with Donnelly.
