The Muskie Mens Basketball team fell to the #10 Marietta Pioneers at home in the Recreation Center Wednesday night, 108-97.
The Muskies started the game off slow, allowing the Pioneers to jump out to 56-37 halftime lead, due in part to Dillon Young’s 17 first half points that included back-to-back-to-back threes. Young finished the game with 22 points.
The Muskies caught fire in the second half, led by Jarrell Marsh’s 29 points in the half. The men were able to get the lead down to just six points several times against the Pioneers, but were unable to get over the hump.
Marsh finished the game with 41 total points, just four points shy of the school record 45 points in a single game, upping his career total to 309 points in his first season.
The loss puts the Muskies at 5-13 on the season overall and 2-9 in the OAC. The men have eight games remaining in the year, with their next bout coming on Saturday when they travel to Otterbein.
