Muskingum University senior captain running back Bernard Johnson was nationally recognized for his stellar game against Wilmington by being selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week.
Also, the Ohio Athletic Conference honored Johnson as the OAC Football Offensive Player of the Week.
Johnson ran for a career-high 172 yards and two touchdowns to help push the Muskies past the Quakers 38-21. The victory is Muskingum’s 11th straight win against Wilmington. Johnson carried the ball 21 times and averaged 8.2 yards per rush.
Johnson’s performance helped Muskingum put up 520 yards of total offense, which is the most yards for the Fighting Muskies since 1999 when Muskingum had 591 yards against Hiram.
Muskingum next plays at #17 John Carroll on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Don Shula Stadium. WMCO will have pregame at 1:15 p.m. with kickoff set for 1:30 p.m.
