John Glenn High School held its Homecoming Parade and game on Friday, Sept. 22, where the Muskies football team beat Meadowbrook with a final score of 45-6.
The festivities started with a parade at 5 p.m., the parade went west through Mainstreet before continuing up College Drive.
The parade was led by the marching band followed by members of the homecoming court with various sports teams from the East Muskingum School District. The local fire department, police department, and Friends of New Concord Inc. were a part of the parade as well.
Homecoming King was Bronson Bendle and Addison Burris was the homecoming queen. Others in the homecoming court included Charley Ford, Jace King, Sarah Gardinsky, Emma Briggs, and Noah Winland.

The fall 2023 homecoming court is riding in the parade through New Concord. The court consisted of Bronson Bendle, Addison Burris, Charley Ford, Jace King, Sarah Gardinsky, Emma Briggs, and Noah Winland.

Members of the various soccer teams from the school district are being hauled on a mac truck trailer. The parade lasted half an hour.

Elementary school football players are taking the opportunity to pose for the camera. Some of the children tried to get the attention of the media with candy.

Friends of New Concord Inc. and Mayor Lyle are participating in the parade via golf cart. The parade also saw participation from the fire and police departments.

The John Glenn High School soccer team are looking ahead on the parade path as they make their way up College Drive. All of the teams in the parade rode on trailers.

The elementary school volleyball team are riding a truck and trailer as part of the homecoming parade. The parade included multiple sports teams of various ages throughout the school district.

Seniors from the high school volleyball team are riding along through Muskingum University campus. The parade’s path primarily included Main Street and College Drive.

The cheerleading team is riding atop fire engines during the parade. The cheerleading team and fire department marked the end of the parade.

The New Concord Fire Department is driving in the parade with the cheer squad riding on top. As the parade came to an end many of the spectators stayed to collect the tossed candy still laying on the ground.
