Muskingum junior outside hitter Brooke Fatheree was selected by the Ohio Athletic Conference as the OAC Volleyball Player of the Week for her exceptional performance at the Case Western Reserve Invitational Sept. 6-7. Fatheree helped lead the Lady Muskies to a 3-0 record on the week and their seventh consecutive victory of the year.
Fatheree and the Lady Muskies defeated both Washington and Jefferson and Thiel in straight-sets and won a hard-fought, five-set match against the Case Western Reserve Spartans. The Lady Muskies have won five matches in straight sets this season.
Fatheree led the Lady Muskies during the tournament with 34 kills on 79 attempts, logging a scorching .431 hitting percentage. She also accumulated 33 digs and 38 points on the week. This season, Fatheree has a team-high 91 kills and 108 digs.
Coming up, Muskingum plays in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational from Friday, Sept. 13 to Saturday, Sept. 14. The Lady Muskies take the court against the Scranton Royals and the Hope Flying Dutch on Friday. Muskingum faces off against Susquehanna and Carnegie Mellon on Saturday.
